5 Ways to Overcome Obstacles and Become Unstoppable

In life we face daily challenges. There are times when we feel frustrated, worn out and just wanting to give up. It’s at this point we need to carry on and overcome any obstacles we face. I like to read personal development books and one of my favorite authors and life coach is Bob Proctor. I highly recommend you read his book called “You were born rich“.  Reading is one of the best ways to stimulate and exercise your mind. It’s from reading and constant learning that you continue to develop as a person.

The following are 5 ways to overcome challenges and any obstacles.

Get Rid of Old Patterns That Lead to Failure

If you continue doing the same things as before and keep failing, you need to ask yourself the question ‘Isn’t it time for a change? Old patterns, habits can be trained to be broken.  For example, I was never into reading. For me sitting in front of the TV watching sports and dramas was it. Shows like CSI can be addictive!

But I was told by a mentor that reading is one of the necessary traits of any entrepreneur. To disrupt my habit, I took up something called the 30-30-30 day challenge. I made a commitment that for the next 30 days in a row, I will read for 30 minutes and listen to an audio book for 30 minutes. It’s often said that to form a habit you need to do it for at least 28 days. Give the challenge a try on something you want to change and let me know whether it worked for you.

Master Your Emotional State

Certain mental/emotional states will inevitably lead to wealth and success. For example if you are in sales, Certainty, Clarity, Conviction and Confidence are essential for success in this field. In your personal life, Compassion, Understanding, Empathy and Kindness will lead to better relationships. Identify the emotional state that is beneficial to your career and life aspirations.

Understand How The Brain Works

There are many books and research carried out on this subject so I won’t go into detail. But here’s something for you to consider. As an online marketer we need to understand, emotion drives action, information drives analysis, we want our reader to act” (Persuasive Copywriting, by Any Maslen). Of course emotion can only work well if there’s logic behind it. Someone looking to buy a product or service will use both to make a decision.  Have you noticed the best copywriters use emotion to get people to take action on their page?

Master Your Fears

Fear is what holds you back and will continue to do so until you learn to control it. We all have fears in life. From a business perspective it may be starting your entrepreneurial journey, public speaking or the need to spend sums of money for professional development. It’s unfortunate that many people die without even attempting to pursue their dreams due to fear. Following your dreams is your decision, you control it. Worrying about other peoples opinions will always hold you back. Use any fears you have as a positive force of energy to move forward.

Set Higher Goals

Having a clear vision with goals is what will set you apart from the majority of working adults in life. Many people just bounce off walls day to day never having a clear action plan as to what they want to eventually achieve. All entrepreneurs on the other hand understand the importance of goals and take action daily. They invest in their personal and professional development in order to achieve business and personal targets. Set yourself clear and measurable goals for success.

If you can take just 2-3 points above and work them to your advantage you will start seeing success.

I always used to say the word ‘should’ myself. I should do this, do that etc. Should is a typical word procrastinators use. Either you do something or you don’t! In the same way I stopped using the word problem in my vocabulary, instead replacing it with the word challenge. It’s all about changing your perspective.

Overcoming any challenge requires having the right mindset. Believe in yourself, have clear goals and take action – the recipe for eventual success.
